In my local bookstore yesterday I saw a Cd of Rafael Mendez...except he didn't play much on it. It looked like it was him talking a lot; talking about practice routines, warm ups, lip recovery, and playing some Arban exercises. Anybody else heard of or seen this CD? I can't remember the title at all...sorry.

Hello,
Haven't seen a Mendez practice CD but you can get a survey of all his records at summitbrass.com. They also offer a 12 disc Decca collection (proud to say I enjoy it regularly). I know there's a Tribute CD narrated by Doc Severinsen -- perhaps that's what this is.
Talking or playing, it doesn't get any better than Rafael IMO.
