For all the Monette players - of these 4 - Stc-1, Prana, Resonance, Unity - which one did you ultimately choose and why ? My assumption is most Monette players have tried all 4 "Models". Thanks for your input. |

I forget but it's in my closet with another bunch of mouthpieces. _________________ "If you don't live it, it won't come out of your horn." Bird

I really like the older Monettes and they often come up used here and elsewhere, so that is what I've stuck with. Some are STC-1 blanks, some are Pranas. I don't think any are Resonances and certainly none are Unities.
At my teacher's recommendation, I started with a B11 around junior year of high school for most playing. It's like a Bach 1B, but with maybe a larger inner diameter. Later got a B2 (1C or 1 1/4 C). Cut to today:
- That B2 and a matching B2L for trumpet
- a B11 for cornet
- a B11 for flugel
- an AP2 for A piccolo
I also use, depending on the music and instrument, mouthpieces by ACB, Curry, Schilke, and Bach. _________________ 1932 King Silvertone cornet
