Has anyone ever seen a quickstep arrangement of "The Star Spangled Banner" for brass band, probably dating to the Civil
War era? I seem to recall hearing a Civil War reenactment band play it, but I can't remember which one.

msteff:

kjos published a waltzy version in the 'heritage americana' brass band arrangements edited by mark elrod.

it's the one fennell recorded for mercury decades ago and is availble on that cd label as a double disc set (music of the civil war)

that's my main guess on what you heard the reenactors play.
