I'm just finishing up Lession #2 in S.A., and have made some major strides. My Pedal C now nearly has the resonance of non-pedal notes below the staff. This just clicked in the past couple of sessions. The next octave down to double pedal C is also opening up and starting to become much more consistent. I made it down to the "A" below double pedal C today, but it wasn't all that strong. More importantly, my sound in all other registers is improving as well!
My question is this: I notice as I descend below pedal C my mouthpiece starts to float up higher onto my upper lip. I'm not talking a major shift here, it's subtle, but noticeable. I've been focusing on sound and it just seems to unconsciously happen, and provides a better result.
Should I just let it happen, or is it better to consciously work to keep it in on spot for all ranges?
