I was listening to a couple of Michael Buble's songs, "Moondance," and "It Better Be Tonight - Meglio Stasera" and his band is just solid man. They sound great! I was just wondering who's playing lead, and who's manning the rest of the section? |

The latest Michael Buble CD as well as his previous disc uses various studio players on different cuts. David Foster is the producer and he uses Jerry Hey as his orchestrator & conductor on most of the horn dates. The Clayton/Hamilton band plays the opening cut, The Best is Yet to Come. The lead is played by played by Bijon Watson.
The rest of the CD is various combinations of Gary Grant, Chuck Findley, Larry Hall, Jerry Hey, Rick Baptist, Dan Fornero, Myself and Bryan Lipps (who tours w/Michael)
Gary Grant played most of the lead. I played lead on Call me Irresponsible (arr by Bill Holman), World on a String (arr by Don Sebesky) and the bonus track Love.
Best,
Wayne Bergeron |

May I just say how cool I think it is that we ask about someone like Wayne and then, out of the blue, he posts the answer. Where else does that happen?
I saw Buble in concert at the MGM in Veags about two weeks ago and his band had a rough start, seemed like a sound mix problem. After about the third tune the band got to open up and play a feature and then it was all ok from there. This was there second concert of the tour, packed house, and a great show. Makes you want to go find a band to play with |
