Taking recent topics into consideration (Track Routine) I'm wondering if it would be appropriate to play the exercises in this group differently from how he recommends in the text. According to the text (and a recording of Dr. Reinhardt Dave Sheetz sent me) you should play each exercise slurred 4 times and then tongued 4 times.
Would it be desirable to practice these like the track routine, tongued first and then slurred on the same breath?

I have always done these tongued first, slurred on the repeat (no break to reset the chops).

David;
Doc originally had you slur them first.
This was changed in the 70's to marcato first then slurred.
Reason is found in one of my posts about the track routine.
