Why is it that when I go to www.trumpetherald.com it's redirected to the Forum index and not the home page?

I don't know, but which I type that url (or click on the link you had in your post), I go to the TH home page, not to the forum.

I do also when I've already been to the site. Close your browser, start again and type the URL.

I can't reproduce your problem. I closed out my email client and browser, opened Firefox, typed in the URL, and ended up at the TH home page. I closed Firefox and opened IE 7, typed in the URL, and ended up at the TH home page. I closed IE7, opened Netscape 7.2, typed in the URL, and ended up at the TH home page.

OK, it must be a Firefox thing. It's been doing it ever since the scam-related lockdown last week. Happens in Firefox at home and work but I just tried it in IE and it's normal.

Thanks

It would seem that this problem is browser-dependent. I use Safari, and I do get the redirect oxleyk describes. (I've never noticed before, since TH is in my bookmarks bar, so I just click on it rather than entering the URL.) If I enter the URL in Opera, it doesn't redirect.

Interesting ... my primary browser is Firefox, and I don't have this problem. Wish I had something more useful.

Hmmm ... have you tried deleting all the browser history pages related to TH? And maybe deleting the cookies related to TH?

Just a thought ...

I don't keep any history. I deleted cookies, reentered ID and password and it still redirects in Firefox on Debian, MacOSX, and WinDOHs.

No big deal. With computers, unexpected behavior is to be expected.

When using Firefox, I get the forum page.

When using Internet Explorer, I get the home page.

Hmm. Probably related to auto-login.

Let me work on that.

I have the same problem....exactly. Goes to the forum webpage instead of the homepage....Once ON the forum page though, I can go home with no issue.

same here. I thought maybe it was related to the fact that the Mods wanted us to see the Security alert.

I thought my Mac was being dumb...Then I realized that I use a Mac, and that was impossible.

Haha...I like that! Back to the discussion, I've been noticing the above-mentioned "problems", too. I use Firefox on a Mac, if that matters.

Kent, I have the same quirky issue. (I'm also using Firefox.)

This happens for me sometimes with Safari. It's probably something with the auto-login cookie. I doubt it's a Mac-specific thing since it happens on both browsers. Also, if it happens on Firefox, it's probably going to happen on the Mac and Windows version.

Good point ... that was a variation I didn't try. When I check the box to login automatically, navigating to http://trumpetherald.com takes me straight to the Forum. When I reset (no autologin), navigating to http://trumpetherald.com takes me to the home page.

I find that when I click on the link for the site in my favortites, it's hit or miss whether it goes to the home page or the forum. Seems different every time, though with a preference for the forum.
