I am trying to find Verdi trumpet excerpt books. In particular the volumes by Neuhaus (sp?) Does anyone know where I might be able to find these? Are they still in print?

If not is there an alternative you would recommend?

Thanks.

Owen.

Or perhaps a cd rom with complete parts? Any help at all would be appreciated!

Thanks

I checked the Orchestra Musician's CD-Rom Library catalog and they have not yet picked up on Verdi.

I also checked the Hickman Essential Excerpts and there are a few.

Volume 4 Overture to Nabucco
Volume 6 La Forza Del Destino
Volume 11 Requiem and Aida

You can get complete parts for many Verdi pieces through Hickeysmusic.com.

I heard recently that many of the insane tracks that DMX drops are actually based on Oberto. Can anyone confirm?

Excellent book. I would recommend it. Great for the old transposition and good tunes as well.

Thats a great site. Do you know if they carry all that music in stock, or do they have to order most of it and then deliver it? It seems that much of it was thought to be out of print.

In generel, they have the music in stock, as far as I know. And you will find there nearly everything.

The "Neuhaus" studies are out print, but you can still get copies by the puplishers (that means "Verlagskopien")

Cheers!

Any new ideas about where to find Verdi excerpts?

The links mentioned earlier don't seem to work. The Orchestral Musician's Library still doesn't have any Verdi.

Thanks to all, and happy holidays

The Piquette/Loehsch Orchestral Test Pieces book contains a number of Verdi excerpts.

You know I love to dig up a 15 year old thread! Here is the Neuhaus Orchestral Studies set back in circulation, including the volume on Verdi. Good to have this in the thread in case a future trumpeter needs it.
