The requirements are usually available at the school's website. Most have them now. Normally you can obtain information about the various programs offered, along with audition information. |

you can pretty much bank on people wanting to hear two movements of "contrasting" style from a concerto or sonata and all your major scales. If it's a really really really prestigious music school then you might want to have your minor scales and modes down... well maybe not modes, but your minors definitely. they'll probably make you sightread really difficult material also. the best thing to do is try and contact the trumpet professor, maybe catch a lesson before you audition and he can better prepare you for what's in store for an actual audition. |

This varies from school to school as well as from degree to degree. At Indiana we have different audition guidelines for jazz majors than we do for (classical) performance majors, for example. |
