Nick's the best. To prove it, something that happened that he probably doesn't even remember. He was running a drop-in at a blues bar in Evanston and I called "Miss Jones" and played the head really well because I know it cold but I didn't have the changes down so I invented some and, after an extremely unusual chorus, he could have said something really cold but, instead, he stepped up to the mike and complimented me on my "very innovative ideas." Actually, I was so far outside even the bartender noticed.
