For ease of use, I would pick Audacity. If it becomes inadequate at some point, you can always spend money. I think the interface is more important. What you want there will depend on whether you are doing. If you are recording single instruments at a time in separate tracks, fairly simple hardware such as some of the simple Zoom products will be adequate. For multiple tracks, you will need more. Yeah the above poster is right, Audacity is still in 2019 a great basic DAW. Really most any DAW at this post is adequate for simply recording yourself play: GarageBand, Reason, Studio One, Audacity, CubaseLE, prob others I'm now forgetting.
You will only potentially be limited depending on what you want to do with it. Software instruments/plugins etc |

As for me, DRmare Audio Capture is another choice to let me record and download music and audios. |
