*Reluctantly* up for sale is a GORGEOUS Yamaha YTR-745 Trumpet in the key of C with reverse tuning slide. The YTR-745 was the predecessor to the newer Xeno line, rumored to be designed by Renold Schilke himself. YTR-745 horns feature a 0.463 large bore and 5-inch bell, making it perfect for an orchestral section. You will fill a hall with the sound from this minty gem.
Serial number is 080,xxx, giving this horn a manufacturing date of roughly 1975-1976 (most likely).
I stumbled on this horn a couple of years ago. I added Curry CCAPS bottom caps (heavy) to the horn, and WOW does it slot and sing! Silver finish is 99.99% as far as I can tell, and there are no signs of dent work, soldering mishaps, or redrot that I can see. This thing looks factory-new other than a tiny surface scratch on the 3rd valve casing (see pics) that doesn't affect the valve action at all. The valves are pretty and smooth; compression seems fantastic, though I don't have a gauge to measure such things.
I'll include a Yamaha double trumpet hardshell case too. It's in great shape too and I'm happy to DM pics of the case upon request.
Cash or Paypal F&F only. Happy to meet in Chicago (Loop to Wrigleyville) or in the western suburbs (Glen Ellyn-ish) if you want to play test first. Or I'll ship to CONUS for a flat rate of $50. Crossposted.
Take this off my hands before I regret posting this! |
