I just heard him on NPR the other night and he was killing it.
I wasn't a fan before but now I am!
it was with the BBC orchestra celebrating Dizzy & Ella's 100th birthdays _________________ ron meza (deadbeat jazz musician) & (TH 5 post ghost neighborhood watch ringleader)
waiting for Fed-Ex to deliver a $50 trumpet to my door. shipping was prepaid by seller of course!

Yeah, people tend to pigeon-hole him because he doesn't mind putting on a good show for the less-serious crowds that just want to hear some swing tunes, which is probably 90% of the gigs he does. But when he's given the chance to do more adventurous stuff, it always brings it home with some really startling and innovative stuff. |
