Hello all,
Weird looking wrap, yes. Unless it is smaller in size, the tubing looks the length of Bb. But they should know what they are selling. _________________ Christian K. Peters

I think the horn is in alto D, not soprano D.

I think the same. alto in D. What is the use of such a horn?
And yes, they should know but I have some good reasons to doubt their judgements. |

Possibly to allow people who learn "c fingering" in Germany to actually play in C? This will be very difficult to explain if I have to! _________________ Bb - Scherzer 8218W, Schilke S22, Bach 43, Selmer 19A Balanced

Low notes.
It's essentially a contralto fluegelhorn. No need for a 4th valve when the lowest 1-2-3 valve combination gets you the G# at the bottom of the bass staff. I've seen this model for sale elsewhere, and the compact design is really pretty cool. Seems practically as easy to hold as a soprano Bb flugel, and knowing some German players who play (Bb) rotary bass flugelhorns who've developed wrist problems from holding up all the weight in one spot, this horn gets you most of that range in a more convenient package. That said, yes, the fingerings can be a challenge if played by anyone other than a trumpeter or contralto/bass trumpet specialist used to getting all sorts of different tonal combinations with the same fingerings, based on the length of their horns.
Happy practicing!
