Hi all,
I wanted to let anyone know who might be interested that the audition requirements for the Eastman School of Music trumpet studio are changing for students auditioning for tge 2024-25 school year. The new audition requirements will be as follows for undergraduate and graduate degree programs.
Two contrasting solo works of your choice. These can be mvts. of concerti, sonatas, solo pieces or etudes.
Three contrasting orchestral excerpts.
We want to make this as painless as we can, so please pick pieces you feel comfortable with.
I hope to see many of you at the Eastman School of Music for auditions!!
Good luck!
Andrew McCandless

ps. We will be updating the trumpet audition page to reflect these new requirements soon. |

Thanks for updating this (and spreading the word). When I auditioned, there were no guidelines at all and I wound up calling Prof. Thompson to ask what I should play. Better if it's clear so everyone is on the same page.
