I see the location is quite convenient for me.
Never been, and as a comeback player / ‘advanced beginner’ and so as to pack light, my thought is to leave my horn at home.
I’ll do a search but if anyone cares to share their past experience going, I’d be interested to hear.
Think I’ll register for one day. |

I always go to the trombone festival (ITF), this year in Fort Worth at the same time as ITG.
My advice: Take your horn, and go for more than one day. There's lots to learn, hear, try, etc.and you really can't do much in one day.
Would you go to school for one day just to see if you get anything out of it?
You said it's convenient this year. Chances are it won't be so convenient again. |

It's a really fun and well-organized event. There is a great mix of performances, master classes (bring your horn!), and lectures. In addition, there are exhibitors that cover the gamut from trumpet manufacturers, mute makers, music publishers....
There are all sorts of trumpet, flugelhorns, cornets...to try. No music store in the country comes remotely close to what you'll find from the exhibitors. I was checking out C trumpets a few years back and was able to try a number of models from Bach, Shires, Yamaha, Powell, Larson, Van Laar, Adams, Stomvi...probably 14-15 horns in all. There were so many C trumpets to try I literally ran out of time. |

I attended ITG once in 1988 when I was living in Dallas and it was in Denton so I could drive up for each day.. I remember just about everything about it from the exhibits to the lectures and performances and the jam session. Thoroughly enjoyed it.

One thing that may be of interest is the conference adds you to a group list where you communicate through an app called Whova, which you can use to send messages out to the rest of the attendees. In 2022 I noticed folks offering up horns, cases, and such for sale through it, presumable for ftf transactions.
This year I am attending through work rather than with my mutes. ACB will likely have most of my offerings at their booth so it's a great opportunity to test out some of my mutes before you purchase.

I haven't checked the list of exhibitors, but usually some of the big stores rent exhibit space and bring horns with them to sell. Thompson Music and ACB are two I recall from previous ITGs. If you know either have horns you'd be interested in trying, you could reach out to them and ask if they could bring those horns with them. |

The ITG site says today is last day for online registration, but unless I’m reading it wrong also states the last day to register is June 1st.
Anyone know if they’ll have a desk set up for walk in registration? |

It could just be me, but the ITG website maybe could be a little easier to navigate. I assume everything takes place at the Hyatt Regency. Map but no information or advice re parking, entrance location, etc.
Probably has just been awhile since I’ve been in Anaheim I suppose. |

So, at the jam session tonight (late) many good/great players, several stuck out but all were very good. The last set this guy comes up and played in a group and just blew everyone away. I'm asking everyone around me who is that guy ?
Have had interaction online for years, never met the man....
I went and introduced myself. It was amazing.
