What's the best way to locate a teacher in my area (Southeastern MA)? I know I can check the yellow pages and call the music stores on the list, but is there some other source for locating a good instructor?
I'm taking lessons now, and the instructor is helpful, but they seem to be more self-driven. I'm looking for someone who can provide me with more direction and jazz instruction.
Any thoughts?

one way to find a teacher is to check the members of professional symphony in your area, and then see if any of the players also teach as faculty or adjunct faculty at local colleges. thats if you want a classical teacher. The other way is to find a top notch player in the style you enjoy, and find out who taught ( or teaches) them. My sister in law is an amazing jazz singer, although now teaching in schools for the benes. She still goes to NYC a few times a year to work with her original voice coach. The best keep working at being the best, I guess. |
