This is a rare Yamaha Custom Series 9810 short bell piccolo in Bb/A. This model was the top of the class piccolo trumpet from Yamaha in the 80s, on par with the 9830 long bell model. The 9810 features a Small .413" bore, 3 3/4" bell, and comes with two leadpipes for the two keys. The short bell models provide a sweeter sound than the long bell models which are designed for the penetrating power, at the same time gives a more open blow, as there are more leadpipe length in proportion. This specific piccolo was also tweaked by Wayne Tanabe and Jim Becker, so you know this can play! Intonation is great all throughout the range, and the horn has silky smooth valve actions. Despite the plating loss on various parts of the trumpet, this piccolo can serve you well for anything you would need to do on one! Please message for more photos!
